Wedding Planner in Bangkok: Ruen Joawsao

For those looking for a wedding planner in Bangkok, then Ruen Joawsao (House of the Bride) may provide a solution. The business is run by Thai man Cheewan Premphaibul who makes all the arrangements personally. He can hold two ceremonies a day; one at the new premises and one at the original site of Ruen Joawsao Taopoon.
Khun Cheewan estimates that since 2001, he has overseen 1,000 Thai weddings. Approximately half of those were foreigners marrying Thais. A basic wedding ceremony can be arranged for 24,999 Baht (£367) ($735). For a more elaborate ceremony the price rises to 49,999 Baht (£735) ($1470). The latter includes the traditional request for marriage by the groom’s family, the Buddhist ceremony, the water blessing ceremony (rod nam sang) and a buffet for 60 guests. Additional guests (up to a maximum of 60) will cost an additional 250 Baht per person (£3.70) ($7.20).
In the Bangkok Post article, Khun Cheewan says that his business is not profit-oriented. If that’s true then it’s a very noble sentiment, but it is nevertheless a business and he must clearly make some profit. On the face of it, the service and prices seem very reasonable, but I have no personal knowledge of anybody who has used this service. However, the very fact that this business appeared in the Bangkok Post does it give some credibility.
Ruen Joawsao is a traditional two-storey Thai house located on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road in Bangkok, near the Ratchavitha intersection. Unfortunately, I can find no website or telephone listing for Ruen Joawsao which means that if you want to use Khun Cheewan’s services, it may only be practical to arrange when you are in Bangkok and can visit him in person to discuss your arrangements.
